A Maryland Bed and Breakfast Inn
Huntingfield Manor, nestled on Kent County’s historic land parcel in Maryland, tells a captivating tale of its origins. This 1200-acre estate, originally deeded by Lord Baltimore to Maryland Eastern Shore’s pioneering settler, Thomas Ringgold, offers a rich blend of history and charm.
Explore the legends surrounding Huntingfield, fondly named ‘The Prevention of Inconvenience’ due to its excellent moorings and cart paths. An esteemed local archaeologist speculates that this land may have once been a Native American settlement, later serving as a British Stamping House, a historical tax bureau.
In the early 1900s, the estate boasted a horse racing track. Over time, it transformed into a lavish hunt club, thanks to its abundant waterfowl and game. Today, it stands as the best Bed and Breakfast on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, an ideal destination for romantic getaways, anniversaries, and couples seeking an unforgettable experience.
Experience the rich heritage of Maryland at the Inn at Huntingfield Creek, where history blends seamlessly with luxurious comfort and serene beauty. Our Maryland bed and breakfast welcomes you to a tranquil getaway on the Eastern Shore.

The Inn Grounds
When you stay at our bed and breakfast retreat, you’ll be surrounded by the natural beauty of the Maryland Eastern Shore. Our inn grounds spans 70 spacious, serene acres, so you never even have to leave the property during your stay to explore the Chesapeake Bay area’s picturesque scenery.
Explore The Grounds at Our Inn
Stroll towards the water down the path we call “The Grassy Promenade.” You’ll pass the Woodside Pond and Wedding Pergola. From there, you can wander along the tree line circling the whole property, or pick up the path and continue towards the water (about a ¼ mile total).
Nothing is more inviting on a Chesapeake summer’s day than meandering through the inn gardens, taking time to nose through the herb beds and enjoy the blooming shrubs and flowers.
All of our gardens were designed to flower successfully, starting with irises, then roses, peonies, hydrangeas, daylilies, and crepe myrtles.
The Inn at Huntingfield Creek is the perfect place to do bird watching. The Upper Chesapeake Bay is a treasure trove of resident and migratory birds. With four and arguably five separate eco-systems on the property, we enjoy an incredible variety of winged friends. Get up early, then tell your breakfast-mates about your sightings!
Outdoor Recreation
The land in Rock Hall and Kent County is rural, flat, and lightly-trafficked, making biking convenient and safe. Here at our inn, we’re happy to offer two bicycles for guests to use on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please stop by and ask one of us for a complimentary biking route map.
In addition to our bikes, we have four kayaks that guests can launch into our inlet. You’ll have a blast paddling around our secluded creek, or you can venture out into the bay.
If you want to kick back and lounge in the warm sun, head over to our sparkling-blue saltwater swimming pool and soak up the rays as you relax on the resort-style lounge chairs. Or, dive in, swim some laps and get your exercise in for the day. Plush, oversized towels are available for your use.
