The Best Photography Spots on the Maryland Eastern Shore

In today’s world, almost everyone has access to a top-notch camera that fits in the palm of their hand. During your stay at Inn at Huntingfield Creek, take amazing photos that will leave your friends and family jealous of your gorgeous getaway.

The Byway in Kent County

biking

Our county is rural, flat, and lightly trafficked, which makes bicycling easy and safe. One of the most picturesque areas to go bicycling is the Kent County section of the Byway, which runs from Georgetown on the Sassafras River to Chestertown on the Chester River, and from there through Rock Hall to the Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge on the Chesapeake Bay. Riding maps and complimentary bicycles are available here at the inn!

Eastern Neck Wildlife Refuge

The Eastern Neck Wildlife Refuge contains over 2000 acres and seven trails of breathtaking scenery. One of the best trails for photography is the Bayview-Butterfly Trail. It extends through a restored grassland to a deck overlooking the Chesapeake Bay, where you’ll find benches and binocular viewers. You can even catch a glimpse of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge! During the winter, keep your eyes peeled for majestic Tundra swans, which migrate to the refuge during this time.

The Grounds at Inn at Huntingfield Creek

With inn grounds spanning over 70 spacious acres, you won’t ever have to leave the property to experience outstanding scenery and views when you stay with us. You can gaze out onto the Chesapeake Bay or even venture out on one of our kayaks from our private dock. This spot is a treasure trove of resident and migratory birds and is fantastic for birding.

Historic Chestertown

Inn at Huntingfield Creek is brief a 20-minute drive from the charming town of Chestertown, where you’ll find many photo-worthy spots. The Chestertown waterfront offers out-of-this-world sunset views. The SULTANA is also docked here, which is a majestic yellow maritime vessel reproduction of an 18th-century schooner. You’ll also want to make sure you snap a photo as you stroll through the town’s historic streets lined with quaint shops and colonial buildings.
