You can take gentle strolls along the promenade, gaze at the water, and even drop a kayak into the bay and enjoy a gentle paddle. If you want to add more to your getaway, there’s plenty more to enjoy about Maryland in the fall, too!

Maryland’s Eastern Shore is a stunning four-season destination. Summers are filled with fishing, boating, beachcombing, biking, wine tasting, and so much more, and fall offers the perfect transition to quieter moments, spectacular wildlife, rest and recharge, and activities like hunting. By winter, the crowds are gone, and the landscapes become stark but beautiful – just in time for the Tundra Swams to fly into the marshes.

  1. Fall weather is still perfectly lovely for sailing. There’s no better way to enjoy the waters of the Chesapeake Bay than a Chesapeake Bay Boat Cruise.
  2. You can also enjoy the water via kayak. We have an on-site dock and offer complimentary kayaks, and there is plenty of great Chesapeake Bay kayaking.
  3. Don’t miss the chance to witness the fall bird migration at the stunning Eastern Neck Wildlife Refuge. Another great place to visit is the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. It’s one of our favorite things to do on the Eastern Shore, Maryland in the fall!
  4. A great way to enjoy Maryland in the fall is biking. Whether you casually ride through some of the best Maryland fall foliage or tour with our friends on the world-famous Vermont Bike Tours, it won’t take long to see why the Eastern Shore is a popular destination for biking.
  5. You can’t leave the Eastern Shore without sampling some of the area’s best seafood, including oysters and crab! Local restaurants in Rock Hall certainly won’t disappoint!
