The Best Birdwatching Sites

  • Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge – This 2286-acre island provides a plethora of space to spend the day in the great outdoors. You can gaze at the elegant beauty of the migratory waterfowl, as well as other wildlife such as deer and blue crabs. During your visit here, you can also enjoy kayaking, biking, hiking, and fishing.
  • Sandy Point State Park – As you’re on the road driving towards Inn at Huntingfield Creek, stop in Annapolis and go birding at this gorgeous park. The park’s beautiful beaches and picnic areas are well known for their breathtaking scenic water views that overlook the Chesapeake Bay. Also, throughout the rest of Sandy Point, you’ll find other habitats that are the home to many bird species, including stone jetties, woodlands, ponds, marshes, and a marina.
  • Chesapeake Farms – When you visit Chesapeake Farms, you can enjoy a self-guided wildlife tour from the comfort of your car. This area is known for its waterfowl sightings, with over 27 species reported. You can even find osprey and Bald Eagle nests here!
  • The Grounds at Our Inn – Each morning, when you awake at Inn at Huntingfield Creek, you’ll be steps away from some of the best birding spots in the area. With four and arguably five separate eco-systems on the property, we have the pleasure of viewing an impressive incredible variety of winged friends.
