Rock Hall Beach

When you pull up to Kent County Beach, you’ll find a quaint strip of shoreline surrounded by human-made stone barriers on each end, making you feel as if you’ve entered a secluded cove. These stone formations protect the waters, making it a calm beach ideal for swimming, especially for younger children. This local beach, commonly referred to as “Ferry Park,” is located on Beach Road and offers outstanding Chesapeake Bay views. With its picnic tablesbarbecue stands, and covered pavilions, it’s a top-notch spot for enjoying a picnic and watching the sunset.  

Tolchester Beach 

Only a 15-minute drive from Inn at Huntingfield Creek 

Just north of Rock Hall, you’ll find the charming, fun-filled Tolchester Beach. Many years ago, before the Bay Bridge was built, the area was a popular Victorian resort complete with a rollercoaster and merry-go-round. Today, it’s a gorgeous sandy beach and marina, complete with an eclectic tiki bar. This full-service bar, The Shanty, serves up refreshing cocktails and often offers live music during the summertime.  

Betterton Beach 

Only a 34-minute drive from Inn at Huntingfield Creek 

Betterton Beach features five beautifully landscaped acres and is the largest Kent County, MD, beach. The park is located near the mouth of the Sassafras River and is an excellent spot for swimming and other outdoor activities, such as fishing, flying a kite, and throwing the frisbee. Plus, Betterton Beach offers an array of amenities and attractions, such as a bathhouse, public restrooms, benches, handicap access, picnic pavilions, public parking, and a fishing jetty and pier.
